Get Assistance With a Classroom
This page contains directions and contact information for requesting assistance with classrooms at Columbia University.
Most reported issues with classrooms at Columbia University fall into one of two categories:
- Technology
- Wires, computers, screens, speakers, microphones, etc.
- Facility
- Chairs, tables, lights, radiators, windows, outlets, carpets, etc.
Technology issues in a Columbia classroom are usually fielded by the team that manages the technology, which may be CUIT or may be the school or department itself.
Facility issues in a Columbia classroom may likewise be the responsibility of Facilities and Operations, or it may be the responsibility of the school or department itself.
In some rare cases with leased spaces, such as Riverside Church, the building itself may be responsible for handling any issues reported at their location.

Classroom technology provided by CUIT’s Classroom and Desktop Technologies group can be found on CUIT's list of hybrid "e-room" classrooms.
Call 212-854-3633 for urgent requests Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CUIT also has on-call support service on weekends at the same phone number.
Please email [email protected] for the following non-urgent requests:
- Obtain podium computer access.
- Obtain technology training.
- Send a general inquiry about a classroom's technology capabilities.
If the technical requirements for a classroom exceed the capacity of the room's installed technology, you can request additional audio-visual services by emailing [email protected].
Some school departments include spaces with technology that are managed at the department level instead of by CUIT.
For technology assistance with those spaces, you will need to request assistance from the department to obtain support.
