Academic Certifications
An academic certification is an official document provided by the University Registrar verifying dates of attendance, award of degree, and/or student status (full-time or part-time) by semester. It is typically requested for health insurance, visa, employment, or credit verification purposes. There is no fee for this service.
It is important if you are requesting a certification for a visa, you should make certain that your expected graduation date is included on your record before leaving and returning to the United States. Please visit the International Students and Scholars Office for further details for international students.

Students may request a certification of their disciplinary records from Student Conduct and Community Standards.
A student is the only individual who may order an academic certification or transcript of their academic record. If you wish to receive either one, you must ask your student to submit a request and have it mailed to your address. A new request will need to be made each term.
Third-Party Ordering
Employers, lenders, insurers, organizations, and other entities that require an academic certification or transcript for Columbia University students and alumni must use the Parchment third-party ordering service.
